A truly transparent network creates confidence in grain transactions.
An Infratec™ network comprises a group of instruments standardised to a central master unit, so that all units will give the same performance independent of operator or location. The central instrument, normally situated at the reference laboratory, is also used to monitor the accuracy of the calibrations. Satellite instruments can be called up from a central computer via telephone modem if an adjustment is necessary.
The entire network can be quickly calibrated, updated or upgraded with new calibrations from the central unit, ensuring uniformity and reliability. Calibration costs are reduced, administrative routines are simplified, and duplication of effort is eliminated.
The main tasks for the Infratec network are divided between different organizations:
The Reference laboratory, which analyses check samples and monitors the performance of the calibrations used.
The Network Technical Committee, which makes decisions about network organization and calibration changes.
The Calibration Centre, which develops new calibrations and makes recommendations about calibration adjustments, and
The Administration Team, which handles database maintenance and communication between instruments.
Supporting the global grain network
The more than 8,000 Infratec instruments currently in use around the world make up a de facto global network's one that has received the recognition of both commercial and government authorities. To make sure that FOSS continues to merit this trust, we provide:
Both the foundation and support for development of global ANN calibrations and local PLS calibrations.
The ongoing statistical base for calibration monitoring, and decision support to networks, to verify performance according to reference methods. Statistics are available (given certified user access) via the Internet.
Support in the planning and decision process for the calibration update and adjustment of networks.
The FOSS Reference Lab, with 30 years experience of reference analysis using Kjeltec™, Soxtec™ or Fibertec™ instruments,
Annual global network conferences, to ensure the free and open exchange of knowledge and experience between network organizations, and
Network Support through the Internet ensuring each network committee member simple and up-to-date documentation and monitoring of calibration performance during the harvest.
The huge Infratec database comprises over 50,000 cross checked samples PLS and robust ANN-based calibrations building on a wide sample range from over ten years of harvests, which prepare you for even the most unusual samples. No other whole grain analyzer can offer you this level of accuracy and stability.
